We can all see that our industry is clearly on the cusp of a new wave, driven by ever-increasing high bandwidth applications and the convergence of Wireline, Mobile and IT - against a background of uncertain user demands. The need for flexibility, scalability and intelligence in the optical layer has never been more important to ensure OPEX is lowered and CAPEX is spent wisely on optical solutions that will not leave you with stranded investment.

Product Updates

7200 Release 3.2

2:1 Card
Meriton Networks has taken the popular 2:1 card from the 3300 OSU and added a corresponding card to the 7200 OSP. This allows for 2 GigE's to be muxed onto one 2.5Gb/s wavelength over CWDM or DWDM for a total of up to 16 GigEs over CWDM or up to 64 GigEs over DWDM. This advancement allows for efficient wavelength utilization at the lowest possible cost. Not limited to Ethernet, this new card is also well suited to support SAN services, such as 1 Gig Fibre Channel.

The 7200 OSP is fully integrated with the 3300 OSU allowing for efficient provisioning and access throughout the network of CWDM and DWDM traffic.

Pluggable CWDM/DWDM 8-Channel Cards
With the latest release of the 8 channel CWDM and DWDM cards, Meriton has chosen to utilize SFPs (small form factor pluggable optics) in this unique application. The move to SFPs for 2.5 Gb/s and slower line rates is designed to optimize optical performance and provide true 'pay as you grow' CAPEX - offering customers the ability to add SFPs as traffic demands warrant.
